A practical guide to moving one café from paper cards to digital without losing a single stamp.

Why go digital?

No more lost cards. Paper cards get left at home, go through the wash, or end up in a drawer. Digital cards live on your customer’s phone and never get lost.

How to transition

Place the counter QR code

Print the ready-made counter card at 100% on your café printer as A4 or two A5 cards. Place it by the till and scan-test it on a phone. No site visit or POS installation is required.

Honour existing paper stamps

When a regular shows their half-stamped paper card, have them scan the counter QR to join digitally. Then add their existing stamps from the customer record in your dashboard so progress continues cleanly.

Offer a bonus stamp for switching

Give customers an extra stamp as a thank-you for going digital. A simple "switch to digital and get a bonus stamp" sign next to the QR works well.

Run both in parallel, then phase out paper

Keep paper cards available for a few weeks while regulars switch over. Once most customers are digital, stop handing out new paper cards.

Tips from our live café rollout

Tell regulars first. Your most loyal customers are the ones who will benefit most. Mention it when they order and show them how quick it is.

Let your team lead by example. If your team is confident with the process, customers will be too. A quick five-minute run-through is all it takes.

Suggest the wallet pass. Encourage customers to add their card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It means they never have to remember a link or bookmark.
